About us…
Metitur Ltd. is a Finnish company that was established in 1996. The range of products manufactured by the company include equipment and computer programs for testing isometric muscle strength, assessing and training postural balance, and measuring psychomotor speed. To great extends Metitur’s work is based on scientific research carried out at the University of Jyväskylä, Finland, since the early 1980s.
The products are used in hospitals, clinics, rehabilitation centers and research units. Typical subjects in need of assessment and training include neurological patients (e.g. stroke, Parkinson’s disease, cp), fracture patients, elderly subjects with balance problems, and employees or athletes with special balance requirements, etc.

One of the founding partners of Metitur is Dr. Pertti Era, PhD, who has been working as the managing director from the beginning on. He became interested in methods and systems for testing postural balance during his career as a researcher in that field at the University of Jyväskylä.

Good Balance 24.09.2007

The balance measurement and training system “Good Balance” is based on the force platform technique. The system makes it possible to measure postural control in different static and dynamic testing conditions and it helps you to train and analyse balance and postural assymetry through visual feedback. You can compare test results between different subjects or tests, so you are easily able to find out about problems in a testee’s balance at an early stage. The system is also capable of precisely monitoring a progress of rehabilitation.

Parotec Insole Pressure Sensors 24.09.2007

Parotec Insole Pressure Sensors is a high-peformance measuring system for in-shoe pressure analysis during standing and natural movements. Precise pressure distribution is recorded using measurement insoles inside the patient’s shoe. The patient can move about freely during the mesurement phase as data is recorded step by step and stored on a card in the controller.
