IP-system for seamless hospital communications 10.09.2007

Perfect communications in running a hospital has nowadays attained a paramount level of importance. It has often become a matter of survival. With new VISOCALL-IP communications platform for hospitals, it has been possible to create a seamless communications network between everyone, every room in the hospital and all systems.

The new system is a multimedia-capable communications platform, capable of combining several traditional functions such as a nursecall system, IP telephony handsets, smartcard billing, Intranet and Internet access, electro acoustic (ELAC) systems as well as video streaming applications in a single system. VISOCALL-IP thereby offers the highest degree of security with 100% system availability for patients on the one hand, whilst considerably facilitating daily duties in the hospital on the other.

VISOCALL-IP is a logical further development of our previous products and raises the bar in hospital communications terms. A single device will be sufficient in the future to operate all technical aids, such as nursecall systems, radio, television, telephone and for controlling blinds. Furthermore, it is also possible to use laptops and multimedia terminals. Furthermore it is also possible to forward calls within the system via an interface to the nurses’ DECT mobile phones or heart alarms to an entire resuscitation team. Patient calls for assistance can be separated from service calls by using the service call function. The qualified nurses can then be relieved, whilst patients are still quickly and efficiently tended to. Moreover, the overall investment and maintenance costs and considerably lower in comparison to other systems. Minimal installation and fitting costs contribute among other things to the cost savings.

MULTIMEDIA TERMINAL 10.09.2007

Whether TV, teletext or radio - each of these media is freely available thanks to the Multimedia Terminal. With 99 program memory locations for TV and VHF radio it is possible to meet virtually every single request for entertainment with optimum stereo sound or in top-text function. If you like to bring along your own DVDs, you will find a port for the respective player and you even need not do without your play station. It is possible to connect any game console, thus making hospital stays, which often are rather boring, somewhat more entertaining by playing exciting computer games. A reading light - a 7-watt halogen bulb making it possible to read around the clock and still not disturb the other patients or residents - and pluggable headsets are other most convenient accessories.

Since Schrack Seconet is an internationally active company, the TV tuner is prepared both for the reception of PAL as well as for SECAM transmitters. The Multimedia Terminal has a screen with a diagonal of 12 inches and a resolution of 800 times 600 pixels

Stimulus-based control for convalescing patients 10.09.2007

The VISOCALL PLUS IR stimulus-based control presents new opportunities for integration of totally disabled people – this system is not just an optimal addition to the VISOCALL PLUS nurse call system in rehabilitation centres and hospitals, but also for care for the elderly. A wide variety of functions can be carried out using the relevant external input devices, which help to ensure a broadly independent organisation of everyday tasks and communication with the patient’s surroundings.

With VISOCALL PLUS modern communications technology - telephony, TV, radio and Internet access – have become as much part and parcel or everyday patient life as medical care equipment and emergency systems. Patients are able to satisfy their most important needs for themselves by simply pressing a couple of buttons. Unfortunately, some patients are unable to even manage that. VISOCALL PLUS IR provides them with long-awaited assistance, whilst simultaneously relieving nursing staff.

A word, a breath or a blink suffices. The infrared receiver in the patient handset interprets the signals, which the patient sends using the type of trigger which is most suitable given his condition. The spectrum of possibilities ranges from a large button, across voice recognition systems and switches that respond to breathing to sensors which “translate” the blinking of eyelids. The VISOCALL PLUS IR’s infrared interface can be configured for every input device and it therefore well-equipped for future developments.

The new dimension in nurse call 10.09.2007

VISOCALL PLUS brings hospital communications to a new up-to-date level.

Communications in hospitals as well as homes for the elderly and care homes have been reached new heights as a result. VISOCALL PLUS is able to cope with the many requirements placed upon it by daily operation, as well as the wish of patients and residents for greater levels of communication. By eliminating the possibility of system failures, the system guarantees 100% reliability and security – an absolute must in operations in modern hospitals and residential homes.

The system is easy to use, with the known and trusted functional processes of proven models have been maintained, thereby ensuring a familiar ease of use for doctors, nurses and patients. The product, which excels thanks to its modern design and highest possible quality, makes it possible to query the relevant current functional state of the entire care area, and transmits all the information relevant for patient care using easily recognisable visual and acoustic signals. Additional information is displayed as plain text via the alphanumerical display. An integrated loudspeaker, microphone and a querying receiver all included to allow direct communication.

The VISOCALL PLUS handset becomes a communications centre for patients and residents. As well as classical nurse-call functions with speech connection, the unit offers the patient a wide array of features. The patient can control room lighting and reading lamps with the device, operate the television, or even use it as a telephone. Consequently, it is also possible for the patient to receive information around the clock, as well as being in contact with his/her surroundings. As has been a tradition at Schrack Seconet, great value was set upon compatibility with older system when developing VISOCALL PLUS. It is therefore also possible to use existing cabling networks when deploying VISOCALL PLUS. It is also possible to continue to use previously used system components as well as to connect the system to the billing system. For functions that have been enhanced, e.g. enhanced patient call or group care, the backwards compatibility is, however, only partial. New devices like the ward terminal are used for the aforementioned enhancements. A new graphical user interface based around WINNT 4.0 is used for getting a complete overview, and also offers logging possibilities and connections to foreign systems.

BMZ Integral 10.09.2007

The BMZ Integral is a modular fire alarm system, which can consist of between 1 and 16 sub control units depending on the size of the system. Up to 2048 modules using loop technology or 64 detector zones using conventional technology can be connected to each sub control unit The BMZ Integral is available with several different types of case (with or without a log printer or as a black box). Each control panel forms an autarchic unit with its own power supply and battery backup supply, to which external operating panels, fire brigade control panels, printers etc. can also be connected as well as detector zones and controllers. To ensure that system integrity is maintained, all components and modules and fitted in duplicate (fully redundantly), with the connections between the individual sub control units also being carried out via a double loop circuit. The BMZ Integral is suitable for connection to control systems, can be built in redundantly into sub control unit loops and networks and also contains connections for an internal modem and an external printer. The unit is programmed using a laptop and the user interface and display texts are available in 20 different languages.
