PHOTONIC FIBERS 1310/1550nm 09.11.2007

1310-16 et 1310-21
These fibers are designed for transmission at both wavelength of 1310 nm and 1550 nm. The difference between the two is the numerical aperture: NA = 0.16 with a corresponding MFD of 6.7 µm (single acrylate coating of only 200 µm) or NA = 0.21 with a corresponding MFD of 5.1 µm (standard dual acrylate of 245 µm). Selection between the two involves a trade off between better splicing compatibility with standard fiber for the first one or better bend performances for the second one.

1550-12 et 1550-17
To improve bend performances these fibers hav a higher cut-off wavelength of 1500 nm. The first one with NA of 0.12 and an MFD of 10.3 µm offers a better compatibility for splicing standard fibers. The second one with NA of 0.17 and an MFD of 7.5 µm offers better bend performances when small MFD is acceptable.

APPLICATIONS
1310-16 et 1310-21
-WDM fused fiber couplers
-Tap couplers
-Photonic devices
-Tight coils and integrated modules

1550-12 et 1550-17
-Photonic devices at 1550 nm
-Fiber payout
-WDM devices
-Fiber optic strain, pressure and acoustic sensors

PHOTONIC FIBERS 980nm 09.11.2007

DESCRIPTION
980-11 et 980-14
These fibers are optimized for use in pigtailling pump laser diodes emitting at 980 nm due to larger MFDs allowing more light to be coupled.
They offer a choice of two MFDs: 6.9 µm and 5.9 µm or two N.A.: 0.11 and 0.14.
The compatibility with other 980 fibers designed for WDM couplers is excellent. A proof test of 200 kpsi for the 980-14 makes this fiber suitable for submarine applications.

980-16 et 980-20
Designed with high NAs, these two fibers offer the highest level of performance in fused couplers. Both fibers guide light at wavelength of 980 nm and 1550 nm allowing to combine pump power at 980 nm and transmission signal at 1550 nm. Tight geometrical tolerances allows for low lot to lot variability.
The 980-20 is a new product with a 0.20 NA that delivers the best bend performances of the 980 range.

APPLICATIONS
980-11 et 980-14
-Laser diode pigtails
-EDFAs
-Photonic devices

980-16 et 980-20
-Fused fiber couplers
-WDM pump/signal couplers
-EDFAs
-Submarine applications
