Serumwerk Bernburg AG is an internationally - renowned producer and supplier of medical products for human and veterinary use as well as of polymeric active ingredients.

Serumwerk Bernburg was founded in 1954. The plant soon became one of the largest manufacturers of infusion solutions and veterinary medicines in East Germany.

In 1992 the company was privatised as an independent and autonomous enterprise. The capital was acquired by a management buy-out. This brave step towards independence was supported by the staff.

Serumwerk Bernburg AG is now an association of four companies and operates successfully on the German market and in Europe, Asia and Latin America. Our medical products meet the highest standards in terms of effectiveness and tolerance. In order to maintain these standards, we are continually investing in the development of methods for manufacturing quality products and in carrying out innovative projects. The use of Propy-Bag® bags in dialysis units and hospitals has a wide range of advantages. Replacing controversial PVC with ecologically compatible polypropylene is just one of the positive qualities of this new medical packaging material.

Propy-Bag® complies with the requirements of the European Pharmacopoeia, Chapter 3.2.7, and the guidelines of USP Class VI, which is the highest safety category in the USA. This means that Propy-Bag® is helping to improve drug safety.

There is no difference between Propy-Bag® and PVC as regards their good collapsibility, the possibility of carrying out pressure infusions, safe sterilisation in accordance with pharmacopoeia requirements (min. 15 mins at 121°C) and glass-like clarity of viewing.
