Company Profile

About Us
SIMiCURETM is a service entity, founded in 2006, within the Division of Biomechanics and Engineering Design (BMGO) of K.U.Leuven. Years of experience in preoperative surgery planning and implant design in combination with biomechanical analysis and fundamental bone research constitute the base for an efficient service, bridging between engineering and medicine. Close collaboration with the University Hospitals Leuven and the General Hospital St.-Jan Bruges led to the development of application-specific, patient-specific and time-saving services in the fields of cranio-maxillofacial and orthopedic bone reconstruction surgery.

Therefore, SIMiCURETM is able to offer highly specialised implant design, implant strength evaluation, surgery planning and surgical guidance services, perfectly tailored for complex clinical demands.

Titanium membranes 12.11.2007

Preformed customised titanium membranes (PCTM) provide an exact fit to the bone, enhancing the rigidity and stability of the instrumented body part. A thin and complex shaped implant proves useful in case of bone augmentation plastic surgery or cranioplasty defect reconstruction. Moreover, weight-bearing implementation after bone-tumour resection is possible as well.

Key features

CT-based bone modelling
automated computer aided defect reconstruction
automated plate overlap assessment
automated screw positioning based on bone thickness
direct accurate link to hydroforming production
