SMI: SURGICAL SUTURES OF HIGHEST QUALITY

SMI AG was established in 1987- the first Belgian Company manufacturing surgical sutures, since when it has grown rapidly, and today is recognised as a world-wide supplier of surgical sutures. The production plant is situated in Hünningen in the east of Belgium, near to the point where the border of Belgium, Germany and Luxembourg meet.

HIGHEST QUALITY AND SECURITY
SMI has always applied international standards of quality like ISO 9001 and EN 46001 as well as Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) procedures. All materials used, as well as finished products are subject to all aspects of quality control by a dedicated team headed by an industrial pharmacist. Quality and security of surgical sutures are thus assured and guaranteed.

WORLD-WIDE RECOGNITION
Exports to 50 different countries constitute 75% of the turnover of SMI. This performance has been recognised by the „Royal Export Award 2000“ of the BFTB (Belgian Foreign Trade Board).
